About Marta Bascom

Marta Bascom began her professional career in Washington, DC where she honed her writing and editing skills as a public policy specialist on Capitol Hill and in the private sector.

 During that time, she also served her alma mater as an alumni interviewer, where she felt very fortunate to speak to young applicants about their interests and goals during the college application process. This experience inspired Marta to turn her attention to helping students bring out their best story-telling skills for college essays.

Marta received her B.A. from Cornell University and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She lives in McLean, Virginia with her family and black Lab, Chester.
